Location 132 Cub Street, Te Aro Wellington
Architects Studio8 Architecture Ltd

Pastaria 1154 is the newest venture for Leonardo Bresolin; part of Wellington’s famous hospitality family. It is situated on a prominent site on the corner of Ghuznee and Cuba St, a Wellington heritage landmark.

CCi were hand-selected to convert the empty shell into a high-end restaurant café. The Architect knew that a safe pair of hands would be needed to deliver the project, as well as the experience and flexibility to be able to adapt to changes quickly because the client preferred to work collaboratively, with flexibility.

The scope included: new drainage; kitchen and toilet amenities; food preparation areas; and a restaurant seating area , which adheres to strict hygiene and presentation specifications.

CCI’s negotiation and delivery skills were put to the test because several challenges presented themselves throughout the build. The layout for the toilet block was amended to meet council requirements, as well as fire-rating specifics and added structural elements of the build.

Client design changes were incorporated seamlessly and quickly. CCI and the client built up a great rapport. This was created through weekly site meetings and sometimes daily on-site conversations to make sure the end result was exactly what they wanted.

CCI have been very proud to bring this Wellington icon back to life and to see this new business flourish.
